Nocturnals

This one is kind of an out there doodle.  There was sort of an idea about some biohazard freaks that were all genetic WEIRDOS.  The idea stuck for about an hour and I made a couple sketches and THIS ONE was probably my favorite.  It would be SUPER SICK to print this out BIG and PASTE it up somewhere, but I'm a sucker for half hearted ideas...

ollie ollie oxen free

I really really like this sketch, so I didn't want to MESS with color too much.  Just some quick background SCRIBBLE in photoshop and it was ready to go.  I proclaim, there ain't nothing cooler than a MOOSEHEAD on a human body.

monsters!!

I had an idea while watching SWAMP PEOPLE, about a guy who hunts SWAMP MONSTERS.  I thought it would be funny/cool at the same time.  Still kind of working out the IDEA but I think maybe it could be some kind of WEBCOMIC.  I will see how time goes and maybe I can get going on this SOON.

Bletch Monster

What could be more FUN to draw than a cute little spiky monster spitting (maybe throwing up) some guts and intestine WORM looking things.  Found the sketch in my notebook and decided to ink it.  That's really all there is to say about this one.

Fox-Man Torso-thingy with a Star-Chest thing

Time has been kind of non existent LATELY.  Even though I HAVE been doodling. I have NO TIME to do anything with the doodles I have.  So I'm just going to put them up here UNTOUCHED and UNEDITED.  This is Fox-Man Torso-thingy with a Star-Chest thing. Take it for what its worth...

Girl Painting

I made this quick little doodle the other day, and quickly decided I wanted t turn it into a painting.
I decided to get some scrap wood from my garage and throw some paint on it real quick.  The whole thing took about a day total to complete and I am very pleased with the results.  It has already been claimed by my friends roommate.

noms

I am a big fan of cute pictures and videos of baby cats.  Not a huge fan of real live cats, but silly videos of them make me HAPPY.  One of the reoccurring words in those videos and pictures and memes is noms, which means, to chew on or eat, or something like that.  In my head I sort of created an adorable little nugget creature called a nom.

Naturally I decided to expand on the idea and flesh out what a nom would look like and came up with this little creature with a giant mouth and puffy tail.  The simple design is a lot of fun to play with, and I really like the opportunity the character could create as far as story line goes.

om nom nom nom nom nom...

sockhead

I doodled this little guy while I was on the phone. I named him sockhead and thought he was NIFTY...
HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Self Portrait 1

Another older sketch that I fixed up.  This one is sort of a self portrait of what I look like during class.  I had a lot of fun playing with the style and character.

Savages

This is kind of an old sketch, but I really like the overall feel of it.  I think it looks really COOL, and sometimes that's all that matters.

Quirkies

I haven't posted in a while but here's a quick update.  My AWESOME girlfriend made me a bracelet while she was studying for her finals.  It's pretty COOL.

Sketch 5: Fallen

Today I did one of my little angel guys.  I like this one for a whole number of reasons, none of which I feel like I can accurately describe on here, so if you like it feel free to insert your own meaning.

Sketch 4: Sidewinder

This character is a little play from my character a couple days ago.  He seems to belong in my MAD MAX style world that I created with my "Man of Many Faces" sketch I did a few days back.  Like I said in that post, I thought it would be cool to have a world where people were identified by the MASK they wore, and create a villain who steals the IDENTITY of his victims.

I haven't decided whether or not this guy is a villain, but I do like his mask.

I might continue to make more masks as I have realized that I draw the mask FIRST and then design the character around the mask, which is a fun way to draw.

Sketch 3: Braid

For this sketch I was really just playing around with different things I like to draw and combining them into a character which I thought turned out pretty COOL.  Other than that little description there is really nothing else to say about this sweet little guy...ENJOY!!!

Sketch 2: Man of Many Faces

Here is my sketch that I worked on today.  Surprisingly enough this one has a little backstory, which is interesting because very few of my sketches do.

This one actually goes a while back when I decided that the coolest VILLAIN in a comic would be one that can change his appearance and blend in with society. The idea came from G.I. Joe's main villain Cobra, who I think is one of the coolest villains, next to Magneto(drool), or Shredder.  All of these villains wear a MASK, which is how I decided that for this villain to properly work the entire culture had to revolve around the use of a mask as an Identity.  This way when the villain kills someone, he takes their mask, and thus, their IDENTITY.

Very HIGHLANDER, I know.

Either way, this is my idea of what he would look like.

Sketch 1: High Society Flannel

I mentioned the other day that I really haven't had time to work on NEW projects, which I still DO NOT, however I am at my computer for about an hour a day, which means I have the time to do some QUICK edits on some of my sketches.  So that being said, here is the first of my sketches.  I'll probably do these for the next couple days or so, or until I have something awesome and new to post.

Something Random

I haven't had much time to myself lately, so I haven't really had time to sit down and work on projects.  So it seems the projects that I think of and write down are beginning to start piling up.  I recently told my girlfriend I would draw on her TOMS for her, and last night was really the first night I touched them.

So until I have time to actually do important stuff, you get scraps that I take with my cell phone of random things I draw.  Hopefully everything starts slowing down, and I actually have time to do things I enjoy doing instead of being crazy busy.  But looking at my schedule for April, I'll be lucky if I get a break.

Snowman

One of my favorite things to doodle is snowmen.  I like them because they are simple to draw and its fun to play around with the shape and the scale of the snowballs.  I could go on rambling a bunch of other artsy things but I just like drawing snowmen.  I usually don't make them all fancy like the one on top.  Normally they look like this one:

He doesn't have any arms either...

Either way, I'm adding a new label section for all my snowmen, because I feel like I draw enough of them.

What the Fluff? Pt. 2

Well, I haven't posted in a couple of weeks.  I have been busy working and doing other dumb stuff, but I eventually made it back to my computer and was able to get the second part of my What the Fluff? doodle figured out.  I really like the unfocused nature of this one and I think it looks really cute...

What the Fluff? Pt. 1

So as I type this I am packing for a weekend in LAS VEGAS with my family.  I'm pretty excited but a little sad I won't be able to post for a while.  I did this drawing about the same time(and on the same paper) that I did the Oy! Soldier drawing on.  Until recently I didn't really have anything to do with it, but I have been watching Adventure Time recently and thought it looked A LOT like the two main characters.  So I colored them up in PS with similar colors and threw on a background.  It was about a 1 hour color job as I didn't get too COMPLEX...

Anyways I will be in VEGAS all weekend and back Sunday night, hopefully with some MONEY and most likely with pt. 2 for Monday morning.

Snipe

When I was about 8 or 9 years old, I took part in what is commonly referred to as a SNIPE HUNT.  Anyone who has ever been on a snipe hunt is already laughing.  If you have no CLUE what I'm talking about are free to look here.  If I remember right I was told that a SNIPE was a small animal that looked like a HEDGEHOG but had large CLAWS and a long BEAK.  I was told that the only way to catch one without getting pricked was to fill a bucket with water HALF FULL and that to catch the SNIPE I would have to put the bucket on the animal without spilling any of the water.  Needless to say this NEVER happened.  After about 30 minutes I gave up and later on the rest of us newcomers one-by-one returned disappointed and with no sign of any snipe.

A few years later I got to send a few newcomers at summer camp on a SNIPE HUNT but thought I would appeal to the more intelligent of the bunch by telling them that first they had to get a bucket of DEHYDRATED WATER(doesn't exist) to catch the animal.  Shortly after the young campers left they all came back realizing there was no such thing.

All of this story has NOTHING to do with this drawing.  However, while I was in class I somehow started remembering this story and began doodling an idea for a child super hero.  Basically the IDEA was that a little 8 or 9 year old kid with a pair of footy pajamas and a great imagination creates all these rediculous missions for himself which end up getting him in lots of trouble in the real world; only to ultimately save the day in the real world and more importantly, in his IMAGINATION.  He is...THE SNIPE!

I toyed with this idea pretty much the entire class period and got these...

N.U.T.S.

I doodled up this little guy a little while back and colored it with PRISMAS.  I thought it looked kind of cool and was very FUN and LOOSE.  I like squirrels and they always have seemed like they could be some sort of animal underworld MOB which would be way cool.  These are the thoughts I have during lectures...

Hope you LIKE.

Ugly Little Spud

Was watching Ghostbusters and drew my own rendition of SLIMER.  Ghostbusters is probably one of MY favorite movies and similar to every other NERD, I LOVE Bill Murray. Later on I threw some color onto this guy in prismas and did some editing on PS.  I think he's pretty rad, and he makes me SMILE every time I look at it.

Shoes Dude

So I drew up and painted these shoes a while back for a digital painting class.  I gave myself a couple different takes on the same CHUCKS where I played with some different BRUSHES.  Nothing else good really came out of that class.  There were some fairy tale things that we did but I can't draw BEARS which is a total shame.  Either way I think the shoes are cool.  I kinda like them, and I guess that's what really matters.

Nice Neat Little Boxes

Most of the time when I doodle, I have no idea where I want to go with the basic idea I started with.  For that reason notebook paper seems to be my FAVORITE.  I used to sketch in a sketchbook, as well as a blackbook, moleskin, and other trendy little sketchbooks, HOWEVER, I realized that those books kind of killed their purpose to me as I found myself trying to make everything in them perfect.  I realized I was thinking out every line and detail, where with my notebooks I would just doodle around while I was bored.  While taking the little blue lines out of the drawings is a real PAIN, those same little blue lines allow me to RELAX while kicking back and exploring an idea.

So here are some little monster things I doodled up and colored with a highlighter pen, I put them in nice neat little boxes and decided I was done with them. Enjoy!

Class Doodle

I drew this little guy in class a while back, just kind of something I did while I was BORED and didn't feel like paying attention in class.  No real future for this character but I really like his little speech bubble, and it entertained me for the rest of class while I tried to turn my attention back to the professor.

starting up

So I decided to start up on my new blog a while ago.  However this is the first chance I've had to really start posting to it.  I decided to put one of my old drawings up first, plus I really dig rhinos.

I'm going to be trying to post more stuff as I find time to upload everything and kind of get this going and make this more of a habit.  Right now I have a bunch of drawings and doodles just laying around with no endpoint and so I'd like to start getting them up here so maybe at least someone can see them besides me and the people that are annoyed of seeing every little thing I doodle.
